The Challenge
Abilo needed a high-quality mobile application that could reach users on both iOS and Android without the cost and timeline of building two separate native apps. The application needed to perform well on lower-end Android devices common in their target market, while maintaining a polished, modern UI that would compete with well-funded consumer apps.
Our Approach
Selected Flutter as the technology framework — providing true cross-platform performance with near-native rendering on both iOS and Android from a single codebase
Optimised the application for low-bandwidth environments by implementing aggressive local caching, lazy image loading, and offline-first data handling
Designed and implemented a clean, accessible UI system with consistent component library — allowing rapid iteration on features without risking visual consistency
Implemented analytics tracking and event logging to provide the client with actionable insights on user behaviour from day one
Conducted performance profiling on representative low-end Android hardware to ensure smooth 60fps animations across the device range
